So we fulfilled our VOLCOM Enter-to-Win "A Trip to Hang with Bruce Irons & Caswell Berry in So Cal" Contest this last weekend in sunny Newport Beach, CA.  The big winner was my man Nigel and his bro Fred both residing from Florida.  They not only got to surf with VOLCOM Pro Bruce Irons on Thursday but they also got to skate with another VOLCOM Pro Caswell Berry all day Friday.  Not to mention, they both got hooked up with a $1,000 shopping spree at the VOLCOM Store in Costa Mesa, CA!  

My fellow Tilly's coworker Nicole brought this skate video premiere to my attention and I was very happy to hear that they are premiering "SKATE MOVIE" (presented by Richie Valdez) at the HURLEY Headquarters which is a block from my house.  She's friends with the man Dan Roberts who's one of the featured skaters in the video. He rips. More importantly I get to walk back to my pad or Avalon Bar after. Stoked.

I thought this was a very interesting true story on how surfing impacted a couple of Vietnam Veterans during the war.  They are showing the movie this Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Sunshine Brooks Theatre (217 N. Coast Hwy. Oceanside, CA).  Doors open at 6:30 and the movie starts at 7:30, admission is free and open to the public.

Well it’s here…the moment we have been waiting for…“Alice in Wonderland” opens today!!!!  We hope to see it in a couple of weeks when it’s not a madhouse in the theaters!  Looking forward to seeing what the Burton and Depp 20 year bromance has pulled off this time. This is their seventh Burton-Depp collaboration.  It has been 20 years since Burton directed Depp in “Edward Scissorhands.” Then the list goes on with “Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and of course the sick and twisted Sweeny Todd.” Apparently it’s expected to gross $70 million just this weekend! So will this be the duos most profitable project?  It’s no surprise that “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” currently holds that position.
