Reef Sandals History...
Reef, one of the top active lifestyle brands in the world, is the world's leader in authentic, surf-inspired footwear, and has been since 1984. Reef sandals and closed-toe footwear have made great strides, appealing to the entire active lifestyle market, from surfers and skaters, to snowboarders and wakeboarders and others who enjoy an active lifestyle all over the world.
Natives of Argentina, Reef's founders, brothers Fernando and Santiago Aguerre, began surfing as kids. The brothers immersed themselves in the surfing lifestyle; from promoting international surfing competitions, to hosting radio shows on the sport, and eventually opening a surf shop in Argentina in the 1970s.
Reef has always blended the irreverent attitude of the beach lifestlye with a commitment to building fashionable, surf inspired products for guys and girls. Reef's inspiration comes from the world around us which the brothers affectionately call Planet Reef.
Planet Reef is a fusion of cool products, extreme sports, art, fashion, and music. Never taking themselves too seriously, the people at Reef try to balance work and play.
