We fulfilled our RVCA "Make Music With Matt Costa" Enter to Win promotion last week at RVCA Headquarters in Costa Mesa, CA. The winner was Megan Story out of Tempe, AZ and she ended up having a once in a lifetime experience. She had a 1 on 1 guitar lesson with Matt Costa, a private acoustic concert at RVCA, and the following day she got to come to our Back To School Photo Shoot in Los Angeles, CA!

Megan flew into Orange County, CA last Wednesday where Stu from RVCA picked her and her awesome mom up at John Wayne Airport. Although she's been to LA before she's never been to the beach cities in the OC. RVCA Headquarters is located in Costa Mesa which is about a mile or so from Newport Beach. On Thursday the festivities started with a beach session then the crew at RVCA hooked Megan up with a bunch of threads. It was then time to meet up at RVCA for her guitar lesson with Matt Costa. Like any musician Matt was fashionably late but they ended up playing together for almost 3 hours! Megan's Gibson Guitar that she won hadn't arrived yet (the Gibson factory in Nashville was destroyed by a storm last month) but he let her play on one of his. Matt was just so cool and laid back and Megan ended up having a blast while learning a few chords.

After some down time I came back to RVCA for Megan's private party with Matt, not to mention some killer tacos in their parking lot and many Coors Lights, we then all headed inside for his accoustic concert. Matt jammed with a bunch of people including the guitarist from OFF! and RVCA's pro Snowboarder. Megan got to hear an awesome acoustic version of "Astair" and my favorite tune of his "Sunshine." The live accoustic set was so sick and everyone including RVCA founder & ANP Artist PM Tenore was feeling it. After the set BG and Megan went to Detroit Bar to hear Neon Indian which is a great band that BG got turned on to at SXSW.

On Friday Megan came up to LA with her personal driver Stu to check out our Back To School Photo Shoot at the American Cement Building (across the street from MacArthur Park). Megan and her mom were not only able to see the behind the scenes action but we had our stylist and makeup artist hook them up with a makeover.

Not only did Megan have a blast but we all did as well. We would like to thank Megan for coming out to play with us and we would also like to thank our friends at RVCA especially BG, Stu, and the man Matt Costa! Matt, thanks for making Megan's year (her words to me) we all really appreciate your time...look out for Matt's new album which is set to release sometime in September on Jack Johnson's record label Brushfire Records.
